He took two straight losses to David Nalbandian at Madrid and Paris and, while the Argentine didn't make the Shanghai cut, both Rafael Nadal (who also lost to Nalbandian at the last two TMS events) and Novak Djokovic loom large. Plus, Andy Roddick should be fresh enough to boom serves and charge the net like a crazed bronco when he faces Federer in their round-robin group.
